Speech-reading involves more than the mouth.
Lip-reading classes are being taught at the Newquay Health Centre. Lip reading goes beyond simply reading the lips of a speaker to decipher individual words; it means developing the skills to catch the nuances made by facial expression, gestures and the speaker's movements. At the time of recording, it was important for the general communication of 82,000 hard-of-hearing people in Cornwall.
