School immunisation as meningitis outbreak hits Exeter.
An outbreak of meningitis has affected five students from St Peter's school. Four of the children are in intensive care at Exeter Hospital. The school has undergone immediate mass inoculations and checks from a team of doctors and nurses from Exeter Health Authority. There are concerns that not all parents, students and teachers have received the message to report in. Each person checked has been given a throat swab and given inoculation tablets.
