Lifestyle magazine series for all the family, revisiting the theme of eating disorders.

This is the first part only of a weekly edition of UTV's The Family Show. Presenter Helen Mark gives an overview of what is coming up on this edition of the weekly family and lifestyle magazine show. Helen then reads viewers' letters asking for help having watched a previous edition's reporting on eating disorders. Ann McCann of the Eating Disorder Support Group is in studio to discuss the volume of communications she dealt with during the previous programme. Karen Doherty, a sufferer who has gone public on her ordeal and her previous suicidal feelings, is in studio to share the turnaround in her life. Her mother, Ann, is also on set to tell of the trying times the family went through and how they received help from the support group.

The Family Show (previously named Family Life) was a weekly magazine style series presenting reports and in-studio features on family matters, from young children, education, mothers, fathers and issues for the elderly, as well as items on cooking, shopping and leisure.
