Northern Ireland Screen's Digital Film Archive
Launched in 2000, Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive spans from 1897 to the present day and currently contains an ever-expanding catalogue of 13,000 items. It comprises material from a variety of depositors including feature films, sport, documentaries, animation, amateur footage, light entertainment, and a significant proportion of broadcast material from the UTV Archive.

Lifestyle magazine series for all the family, featuring items on car auctions, the Golden Cow Youth Games and Down Syndrome.

Presenter Helen Mark gives an overview of what is coming up on this edition of the weekly family and lifestyle magazine show. Stephen Nolan reports on the perils of buying cars from auctions after one car only managed to travel four miles before bursting into flames. Ian Wilson of MD Wilson Auctions is interviewed, as is Amanda Hamilton who bought the dangerous car. Jimmy Hughes of trading standards reveals how auction rooms escape the normal consumer protection legislation.

Gillian Ievers reports on the Golden Cow Youth Games. Jim Clarke of the Sports Council talks about the ethos of the games. Ruth McQuillan, a swimming officer, talks about balanced training. Spike Hill, a development officer at the IFA, talks about the pressure on children to perform. Debbie McLarnon discusses her career in teenage gymnastics and how it was cut short by injury. Rena Maguire is in studio with a range of alternative remedies. She shows how to prepare treatments for headaches, children losing teeth and a remedy for cradle cap using stinging nettles.

Laura Francis reports on volunteering to help children with Down Syndrome. Katie Royle of the Down Syndrome Association tells of certificates being available for young people who volunteer. Lorna Wilson of Ladyhill Lodge Nursing Home talks about the benefits to one of her residents, Graham McGruggan, of volunteers taking him out. Louanne Turner describes going shopping and bowling with Graham. Gerard Shelvin is a young man with Down Syndrome who reveals that he now volunteers himself having been impressed with people helping him. Gwen Kennedy of the Imperial Cancer Research Shop discusses Gerard's helpfulness in the shop.

Moya Henry of the Belfast Women's Training Service is in studio to encourage women to be more confident in declaring their skills in the job market.

The Family Show (previously named Family Life) was a weekly magazine style series presenting reports and in-studio features on family matters, from young children, education, mothers, fathers and issues for the elderly, as well as items on cooking, shopping and leisure.

Consumer, health and family issues combine in this UTV magazine series from the early 2000s.
Helen Mark presented this eclectic weekly show for Ulster Television, which embraced all aspects of family life from the home and garden to healthcare; from retail to education; from consumer protection to organisations providing care for those in need. Originally called Family Life before morphing into the Family Show, the series provides a warm snapshot of the times as it deals with the issues affecting everyone from young children to the elderly in the early days of the new century. And it was also to provide a platform for a young rising star in the shape of Stephen Nolan, who embarked upon his award-winning broadcasting career as a roving consumer reporter for the series.
