Northern Ireland Screen's Digital Film Archive
Launched in 2000, Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive spans from 1897 to the present day and currently contains an ever-expanding catalogue of 13,000 items. It comprises material from a variety of depositors including feature films, sport, documentaries, animation, amateur footage, light entertainment, and a significant proportion of broadcast material from the UTV Archive.

Lifestyle magazine series for all the family, featuring items on cheaper medicines, later motherhood and cycling in cities.

Presenter Helen Mark gives an overview of what is coming up on this edition of the weekly family and lifestyle magazine show. Jacqui Berkley reports on the difference in prices for basic products in chemists. Terry Maguire, a pharmacist, explains the cheaper options available for medicines. Lesley Black, a consumer journalist, suggests in studio that customers have brand loyalty but that there are big savings to be made.

Gillian Ievers reports on women choosing to start families later in life. Linda Clark, a community midwife, is interviewed and Dr Caroline Bryson, a specialist registrar, talks about the risks. Pat Scott, a midwife and a 42-year-old expectant mother are interviewed. Hayden Dean is in studio with his two-week-old child to talk about being an older first time father and the pros and cons.

Eamon Brown of Sustrans talks about the National Cycle Network route in Derry. Brian Black, UTV's environmental correspondent, talks about the need for cycle lanes in cities. Steven Patterson, the regional manager for Sustrans, talks of how Northern Ireland needs to match the funding investment of other regions in the UK.

Children with fake injuries in studio are part of a piece on how to deal with some first aid issues. Barbara Watson shows how to help someone with a nosebleed, fainting, burns, choking and accidental poisoning. Vox pops with the public on their own knowledge of first aid.

The Family Show (previously named Family Life) was a weekly magazine style series presenting reports and in-studio features on family matters, from young children, education, mothers, fathers and issues for the elderly, as well as items on cooking, shopping and leisure.

The Family Show

Consumer, health and family issues combine in this UTV magazine series from the early 2000s.
Helen Mark presented this eclectic weekly show for Ulster Television, which embraced all aspects of family life from the home and garden to healthcare; from retail to education; from consumer protection to organisations providing care for those in need. Originally called Family Life before morphing into the Family Show, the series provides a warm snapshot of the times as it deals with the issues affecting everyone from young children to the elderly in the early days of the new century. And it was also to provide a platform for a young rising star in the shape of Stephen Nolan, who embarked upon his award-winning broadcasting career as a roving consumer reporter for the series.
