Guinness Export: The Man (Version 2)
A man walks into a bar... but there are more punches than punchlines in this snappy Guinness ad.
From Guinness with love comes this action-packed cinema ad, with an intriguing back story. A mysterious agent overcomes a variety of obstacles - heavies, kisses, bricks - that stand between him and a bottle of stout. Three identikit versions of the ad were made on the same set but with different groups of actors. Look elsewhere on BFI Player for versions 1 and 3 which are filmed with all Caucasian and all Asian casts. Though the brand is global, and the story seen as internationally fitting, the actors are strictly segregated across three discrete ads.
Guinness Export Guinness advertisement. A Black man breaks the brick wall and
appears. He is attacked by a man from the behind, but he throws the man. A
woman suddenlly appears in front of him and they have a kiss. The hero
finally gets to a pub in spite of the obstacles and has a glass of Guinness.
Voice over: "Strong, dark, smooth, exciting, invited, satisfying. That's a
Guinness. Nothing comes between man and Guinness."
Note: Same content as THE MAN VERSION 1 apart from casting, replacing Caucasian
cast to Black (Caribbean?) cast.
