A journey through some of the region's sporting highlights seen through the lens of local cameramen over the past century.

Sport is a great leveller and something that can bring everyone together - whether your interest is in rugby or rowing, you are drawn together with a group of people who share the same passion. The fundamental reason we all watch and play sport hasn't changed, but it's fascinating to see through these historic pictures the changes that have taken place. The faces in the crowd, the equipment, the styles of dress, and the development of some sports into global businesses while others have just faded away.

A journey through some of the region's sporting highlights seen through the lens of local cameramen over the past century. The programme includes footage of the record-breaking Rugby League Cup Final in 1954, the lost game of Knurr and Spell - a game recorded in the 1960s at Cowling near Keighley, and footage of a Boxing Day cricket match in Leeds where the pitch is covered in snow. Part two focuses on Horseracing and Yorkshire trainers' wife as she remembers the 1963 Magnet Gold Cup and an archer recalls his first Yorkshire championship filmed in 1961. There's also footage of the 50-mile Kennedy Memorial Test in Lincolnshire, with memories of the man who devised the event.
