A look at how people enjoyed their leisure time before the advent of television and computers.
A Grand Day Out explores the way in which people enjoyed their leisure time before the advent of television and computers. The programme includes previously unseen footage from the 1930s of one of Britain's first theme parks, Golden Acre park in Leeds. Other stories include an affectionate look at a Colliery Brass Band in the 1960s, the pioneers of climbing in the Peak District, a typical church fete from the 1950s, and a charming Sunday School outing to the coast.
