Trojan Car Advert
- York
- 1926
Big engines, big cars and a mini musical that packs a punch.
The new Ford V8 bursts on to the scene with the rhythm of the road and Gordon Little, backed by King Palmer's V8 Shadow Symphony Orchestra. This mini musical sings the praises of the Ford V8 as the engine purrs, the band sings and the scenery flashes by.
The praices of the Ford-V.8. are sung by the baritone Gordon Little.
Throughout the 20th century, screen advertising helped transform the car from luxury conveyance for the wealthy to essential commodity, 'hand-built by robots'. It saw out the last days of steam, and made 'the age of the train'. And it presented travel - at home or abroad - as a route to a better life.
