Other guests of the weekly Ulster Television book programme include the controversial US author Sheer Hite.
Anne Robinson introduces us to highlights of the programme ahead and then speaks to bestselling author Jeffrey Archer about his new collection of short stories, A Twist in the Tale. He talks about the benefits of only starting to write later in life and gives his strong opinions on what was wrong with the UK publishing industry and how he was interested in changing the size of hardbacks in Britain. Anne then presents the UK Top Ten Non-Fiction Hardback Chart.
Anne interviews Shere Hite about her guidebook, Good Guys, Bad Guys and Other Lovers. Anne finds that the book is merely a collection of sad and unhappy stories and asks where the solutions are three times without Hite answering the query directly. Back in the studio Anne then voices her strong disapproval of the book before introducing the next piece.
Reporter Robert Barber speaks to American author Jonathan Kellerman. He explains how his work as a psychologist has helped with his writing of crime novels and how he has gone about choosing the setting of Jerusalem for his new book, The Butcher's Theatre.
Anne talks to Frances Whithead of Mills and Boon about how to approach publishers with an idea and what kind of submissions she receives. Anne then visits romantic novelist Celia Brayford for further advice and how to plan a book. The programme concludes with Anne's look at that week's UK Top Ten Paperback Fiction Chart.
The Write Stuff was a weekly round-up of the world of books, authors and publishing and was a contribution from Ulster Television to the ITV network's daytime schedules. Each week, presenter Anne Robinson and reporter Richard Barber interviewed prominent authors, sought out celebrities for the latest books they'd read and ran through the weekly book charts.
