Egg Marketing Board: Go to School on an Egg
Aunt Et serves up the perfect brain food for breakfast.
The British Egg Marketing Board worked with PR firm Ogilvy and Mather to produce a long-running series of commercials extolling the health benefits of eggs for breakfast. Campaign director Len Fulford became known as 'the Eggman', apparently the source of the reference in The Beatles track I Am the Walrus. Author Fay Weldon is credited with coming up with the slogan 'Go to Work on an Egg'.
Go to Work on an Egg
A cracking collection of adverts from the heyday of the Egg Marketing Board, when the likes of comic giant Tony Hancock and football legend George Best persuaded viewers to go to work on an egg.
Confused? Let Tony explain why happiness is egg-shaped. Lift the lid and dip into this selection and we promise you’ll be eggstatic.
