Egg Marketing Board: Have a Smashing Time
Are these giant eggs, or is it a tiny Beryl Reid?
Darling eggs at a bob a dozen? That's a penny an egg in old money, and the perfect excuse to roll out the Beryl. Celebrity appearances were common in commercials for the Egg Marketing Board, most famously with Tony Hancock. The popular and acclaimed actress Beryl Reid had the perfect mix of audience recognition, humour and warmth to capture attention and communicate a sales message in seconds.
Go to Work on an Egg
A cracking collection of adverts from the heyday of the Egg Marketing Board, when the likes of comic giant Tony Hancock and football legend George Best persuaded viewers to go to work on an egg.
Confused? Let Tony explain why happiness is egg-shaped. Lift the lid and dip into this selection and we promise you’ll be eggstatic.
