Egg Marketing Board: Jack Hulbert
Two eggs, or not two eggs? That is the question.
Setting your alarm clock can be alarming in itself. Classic comic actor Jack Hulbert had been appearing on screen since Elstree Calling in 1930, and his long career had only added character to his face. An instantly engaging and recognisable character is essential in making short sharp adverts like this work on first viewing, and stand up to repeat showings.
Go to Work on an Egg
A cracking collection of adverts from the heyday of the Egg Marketing Board, when the likes of comic giant Tony Hancock and football legend George Best persuaded viewers to go to work on an egg.
Confused? Let Tony explain why happiness is egg-shaped. Lift the lid and dip into this selection and we promise you’ll be eggstatic.
