Equal Opportunities Commission Reports on Sexual Discrimination
Combatting sexual discrimination at work.
The Equal Opportunities Commission published a booklet to help raise awareness of the problems of sex discrimination in the Northern Irish workforce. There had been a record number of complaints to the Commission which they attributed to a raising awareness of the problem and a better informed workforce. This is a short report that demonstrates the gradual change in society at the time, as well as hopes for a more inclusive Northern Ireland in the future.

From improving services and support for neurodiverse people and people with physical disabilities, to amending workplace laws to address inequality for women, UTV documented many small but significant steps towards progress.
The channel also covered Northern Ireland's growing diversity in terms of population. People from all over the world moved to the country to live and work. In this collection, we learn more about the Chinese, Indian, Persian and other communities that now call Northern Ireland home.
