Established in 2001, the National Library of Wales Screen and Sound Archive holds an unrivalled collection of films, TV and radio broadcasts, video tapes and sound recordings relating to Wales and the Welsh, from 1898 to the present day. The collection spans multiples formats and genres, both professional and amateur.

Caernarfon has a distinctive Welsh dialect, with many words and expressions that are unique to the town and its surroundings. Caernarfon people are colloquially called 'Cofis', and in this film by Ysgol Maesincla pupils a young Cofi descibes, in full dialect and rhyming couplets, his escapade-packed day and a chain of unfortunate events that starts with his failure to pay for a cake in a café, involves royalty, and winds up behind bars. The famed Caernarfon deadpan humour abounds.
