The brief craze for deely boppers hits Birmingham.
Arriving from American in the summer of 1982, the Deely Bopper, or space antennae, was never going to catch on with the wider public. Wearing a couple of wires with baubles on them on your head may have been appealing for some of the younger members of the population that year, but as Tony Maycock finds out in the Bullring in Birmingham, they're not really for everyone.
