London Line No 373
A Ghanaian fashion student and a Nigerian squash player are among the Africans making a life in 70s Britain in this edition of the magazine show.
This edition of the TV magazine show has a distinctly African flavour, opening with Ghanaian student Barbara during her second year at the London College of Fashion and Clothing Technology. Barbara and friends hope to "set the world of fashion alight"; no mean feat when tasked with designing a travel wardrobe for Miss World. Look out for shots of the LCF's headquarters on Oxford Street, due to be vacated when the college moves to Stratford. The programme moves on to feature children playing the new 'imagidraw' game, Nigerian squash player Theo, and a publication of East African poetry in English.
London Line was a series of weekly TV magazine programmes produced in London and commissioned by the British government for showing overseas, particularly the USA and Canada. This edition, notable for featuring all black presenters and subjects, suffers from sound problems which we hope won't detract from your enjoyment.
