A infectious joy shines through this hopeful film about Tyneside children and their brave determination to make themselves heard.
The Percy Hedley School was established in 1953 by a group of parents who wanted to create a school for children with cerebral palsy. A chance meeting with the solicitor of the late Percy Hedley, who had left his wealth in trust to be used for charitable causes in the North East, helped their dream to become a reality. In the intervening years they have expanded their support to help 1,000 children and their families.
A video about the Percy Hedley School in Newcastle that looks at the work done at the school to support both children and adults with cerebral palsy and communication issues, as well as to promote an appeal for the building of a specialist senior school for pupils of aged 16-18.
