With unemployment stubbornly high, our government policies failing young people in our towns and cities?
A special edition of the regional current affairs programme Briefing, which compares and contrasts Conservative party policy in rural and urban constituencies against some of the social problems of the day, with an emphasis on unemployment especially with the young. The towns of Hexham in Northumberland and Darlington in County Durham are chosen as suitable rural and urban examples, with their sitting MPs, Geoffrey Rippon and Michael Fallon, coming from different sides of the Conservative party.
