Central News visits Melton Mowbray, the home of the traditional pork pie.
For many, the spiritual home of the pork pie can be found in a Melton Mowbray high street shop. At Dickinson and Morris, they've been making the meaty pies, with their distinctive crust and layer of (unappealing for some) jelly, for well over a century, and Ye Olde Pie Shoppe draws in pie enthusiasts from far and wide.
In May 1984 they declared that it was 'Pork Pie Month', which was a good excuse for Central News to send along reporter Malcom Munro for a masterclass in pie making.
Pork pie month is celebrated in the pie's home of Melton Mowbray.
