A series of interviews with prominent figures from the Yorkshire region.
Former miner Jim Bullock, born in 1903, rose to pit manager to landlord, straddling the class divide by having to deal with the miners’ union and also setting up a new union for management; all the time remaining a socialist. In this interview with Richard Whitley, Bullock is the epitome of a straight-talking Yorkshireman sharing his views on what he considers an honourable profession of being a miner, breeding cows and pigs on his farm, private education, his opinions on Arthur Scargill and the relationships between Trade Union Leaders and those who manage the mines, and his ambition to own "the house on the hill."
Richard Whiteley interviews the miner and socialist Jim Bullock OBE.
