Crossroads (Promotion) (Crossroads)
A tour around the set of the Midlands soap.
Welcoming new visitors to her motel, Meg Mortimer introduces viewers to the television serial Crossroads. Delivered in character as Meg, Noele Gordon guides the audience around the set of the programme and introduces many of the main characters and their latest storylines. The audience is shown photographs of the characters to accompany the summaries of their narrative background. This allows potential new viewers to get acquainted with the twists and turns of the lives of Crossroads' recurring characters.
Crossroads was a daily serial set in a fictional motel in the Midlands and centred on the lives of staff and guests. Created by Hazel Adair and Peter Ling, it originally ran from 1964 to 1988 and was produced by ATV and Central Independent Television. Carlton Television later revived it in 2001 but it was cancelled in 2003.
Meg Richardson (Noele Gordon) does an introduction to Crossroads to a new audience. She walks around Crossroads Motel introducing key characters (with still photographs). [It is not made clear who the new audience is].
