The Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition was a theatrical re-release of the original trilogy to in 1997 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: A New Hope. Anthony Daniels would go on to play C-3PO in ten Star Wars films from 1977 to 2019
