There are some surreal antics and madcap fun after the Mad Aunts, Dotty and Wizzie, kidnap an elephant from the local zoo
This madcap children's comedy revolves around an utterly bonkers pair of women called the Mad Aunts and the elephant they've kidnapped from the local zoo - planning to later return it to Africa. Played by Jane Basset, as Aunt Dotty, and Louise Rennison, as Aunt Wizzie, we are offered a series of surreal sight-puns and visual gags, including an armchair with a will of its own, as they deal with their nosey neighbour, Mrs Schnozzle, played by Liz Aggiss, and a policeman called Constable Er, played by James Poulter. After mollifying Constable Er with a totally illogical reason as to why they don't have an elephant in their country cottage, the Aunts dive into a bath-tub where they find a message in a bottle. The message reads 'Two pints today please. Milkman!' This production from the Cheeky Girls comedy team dates from 1990.
