The Innocents

An icon of Mod youth culture in the 1950s, the Lambretta scooter is on display as the Bromley club show off their skills.

Manufactured by Ferdinando Innocenti of Milan, the Lambretta motor scooter was the vehicle of choice for Mods in the 1950s. The Bromley club ‘The Innocents' formed in 1957 at a time when numerous Lambretta clubs were springing up across the UK. The iconic scooters and dexterous manoeuvres of the club riders are shown off to great effect by the birds-eye-view camerawork employed in this film.
