From the Dragonara Hotel in Leeds, Fred Dinenage looks back over the highlights of the series.
Pro-Celebrity Darts was part of a stable of shows following the same format, including snooker, golf and bowling; all hosted by ITV legend Fred Dinenage. In this final edition of the series, they study the play and personality of the leading professionals and analyse the rivalry of certain players.
The pro-only competition was sponsored by Ladbrook's bookmakers, and in addition to offering prize money to the competition winner, they paid 'a pound a point' every time a player scored 180.
Overall contest winner Phil Bennett declined to accept his prize money because, as a professional Rugby Union player, he could not receive it if he wished to maintain his professional status.
Fred Dinenage presents the darts competition where professional players and celebrities join forces to compete against each other. Players are Diane Keen, Alan Evans, John Lowe, Liz Frazer, Reg Bosenquet, Ran Smith, Nicky Virachkul and Charlie Williams.
