Chadlington - famous for its water supply since Roman times; visiting Londoners have been known to take it home by the bucket load.

In 1972 the village of Chadlington in Oxfordshire had its water supply changed from the centuries old spring water to a piped supply from a nearby reservoir. As Chris Tarrant found out the following year, local people were not at all happy with the change. He finds a disgruntled population variously describing the new water as 'bureaucracy's processed sewerage' and even more bluntly: "Filth!". It was even blamed for killing off someone's poor goldfish.
