Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee Paul (St Paul's: North 2)
This camera position, in one of the raised stands right by St Paul's, will have cost RW Paul a pretty penny.
This camera position, in one of the raised stands right by St Paul's, will have cost the film's producer RW Paul, a pretty penny! Paul was banking on his Jubilee films making him a lot of money, given the huge amounts he invested in getting the best vantage points for the ceremony. Indeed, the catalogue boasts that 'these are the finest views taken of this event, and have met with enormous success wherever shown. They comprise all the most interesting features'... before offering the films at a reduced price. Although the films did sell, it wasn't in the huge numbers anticipated.
Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee procession. View from north side of St Paul's
churchyard, showing the Life Guards. Filmed from the same position as QUEEN
VICTORIA'S DIAMOND JUBILEE - PAUL (ST PAUL'S: NORTH 1).
