Peggy's Wedding, Edware

A wonderfully informal film of a wedding at St Margaret of Antioch Church in Edgware, Northwest London in the first few months of 1944. Guests arrive, some in uniform and mingle with family members in the churchyard. The couple leave the church and pose for photos before leaving for the nearby reception. Wartime austerity in the shape of rationing means the wedding cake is a small affair but the couple don't seem to mind. A quick change of clothes and they are off on honeymoon.
