This edition of Look Here, a monthly programme about the TV industry produced by LWT, focuses firstly on the changes that the advent of cable television will bring for British broadcasting. While the legislative background to the shifts in industry is well covered, what's particularly striking is the speculation about the impacts on film and television production, which ring truer today than ever. The discussion of the potential impact of cable and the increase in choices for TV audiences seems remarkably similar to the way video-on-demand services are currently discussed in relation to public service broadcasting.
Other items in the programme include a report on how the commissioning and funding of the future Channel 4 would work and a report on one viewer's complaints about racism against the British Chinese community in an episode of The Professionals.
