Kersall, the Nottinghamshire village that puts its phone first.

In the tiny village of Kersall in Nottinghamshire (population 34) a campaign is underway to save the village telephone box. Takings were only £35 last year; probably more than a city centre box takes these days but, back in 1981, it was desperately low. Villager Brenda Wood really cares for the box having decked it out with pot plants and even a carpet - something that is not recommended in most urban phone boxes, which seem to have a dual purpose...
