Kingsland Carnival and Flower Show August 2nd 1953

Carnivals are always a good reason to get the camera out and this time it is the turn of the village of Kingsland in Herefordshire. Frank Dale from the nearby town of Leominster filmed these colourful scenes. Mrs Dale is seen helping out with final adjustments to the carnival queen's crown before she joins the procession. There's a good selection of fancy dress costumes for both young and old with a special mention for the inventive person who's come as a pillar box.
