Campanions

Advocates scouting as a healthy worthwhile pursuit and shows the activities of a typical scout camp.

Scouts prepare to go to camp. They march down the road to the strains of "I'm riding along on the crest of the wave...". The train to the scout camp reaches its destination and the scouts pour out, cheering. We see them pitching tents; morning camp inspection by the chief, exercise and recreation (quarter-staff play, tennis, rope-spinning). Scouts prepare the mid-day meal and call the rest by morse code. The washing up is done with a will. Dusk falls, a log fire is made and songs are sung. The film ends with a few words from chief scout, Lord Baden-Powell who points out the rapid world-wide growth of the scout movement in 27 years. Years ago open life was frowned upon by parents; now all may enjoy the open air (825 ft).
