Part of Manchester Metropolitan University Library’s Cultural Collections, and based within Manchester Central Library’s Archives+ partnership, we are a specialist resource dedicated to saving and growing our region’s rich filmed history.

Cauliflowers, chickens, cattle, and the Dairy Queen of Cheshire - if you enjoy country life, then this show is for you.

There is plenty for visitors to see at the 1937 Middlewich Show - from cattle to small livestock such as rabbits, poultry and budgerigars. Why not take a close look at the floral exhibits and piles of prize-winning fruit and veg? Or watch the well-groomed Dairy Queen of Cheshire with her entourage, or the parade of glossy shire horses? There is something here for all who appreciate country life.
