The East Anglian Film Archive, the UK's first regional film archive, offers a unique record of the East of England's social and cultural history. As part of the University of East Anglia, we continue to lead moving image heritage research and inspire audience participation through community projects and events. Our collections represent a broad range of amateur and professional creativity, from 1896 to the present day.

Get Into the Swim at Butlin's

Supplied courtesy of Butlin's Heritage Collection, this colour publicity film aims to promote their popular holiday camps as the ideal place to learn to swim, emphasising the expert instruction provided by Redcoats who are always on hand to give technical advice or instill confidence in the novice swimmers. Underwater windows, a unique feature of the camps, provide the perfect viewpoint to watch the graceful moves of the aqua ballet … or the frogman cleaning the glass!
