"Spot the Stars"
Ardent film fans could win a thousand pounds in this Daily Mail competition by naming screen actors in current releases.
Back in 1930, the Daily Mail enticed filmgoers with a weekly £1000 prize if they could identify the screen stars whose photos appeared in the paper. Fans not only had to buy the paper but were urged to get along to their local picture palace where they would find the stars appearing in one of the current releases. No prizes for guessing today!
