There as much going on off the pitch as there is on in this remarkable film which features summer fashions, stripey blazers and pipes aplenty

As the titles say there are more spectators visible in this amateur film than any runs being scored - as the camera focusses on those who watch the game from the sidelines; old men with pipes and player's wives and children, sitting about in deckchairs, chatting, playing or eating ice-cream
