South Wales Leather

Men at work in the Afon Leather Ltd tannery in Llanelli that produced leather for the fashion trade during the 1960s/70s.

Interesting but incomplete film showing the Afon Leather Ltd. tannery/leather factory in Llanelli. It operated during the 1960s/70s from an industrial unit at North Dock, producing leather for the fashion industry. Some of the employees in their white coats smile and wave at the camera. It was possibly shot by Harold Prescott, Llanelli's Librarian, who acquired a camera in 1957 in order to record the town's industries, particularly those on the cusp of change.
