The Seven O' Clock Regulars' Swimming Club Part 3 of 3

Seven O'Clock Regular Swimmers' Club in shore-to-shore swimming race from Drake's Island, Plymouth

Members of the Seven O' Clock Regulars' Swimming Club leave West Pier in rowing boats and head for Drake's Island to compete in a traditional swimming race. The finish line is the shore at West Hoe. In the film, the club's competitors are rowed out to the island and accompanied back by the rowing-boats. A steamship can be seen in the background in Millbay Docks.

This film is part of the collection of amateur films by Claude Redvers Endicott, a local butcher. Sponsored charity swims from Drake's Island and the breakwater in Plymouth Sound continue to this day.
