Wednesfield's Annual Carnival Day

The annual carnival at Wednesfield, which was then in Staffordshire, features floats inspired by the Wizard of Oz (complete with rainbow!) and the 1920s dance craze the Charleston. However, the main event is the funfair with hair-raising rides and the ever-popular dodgems. The dog racing is a bit of a local speciality but Joe Smith, who lived at the nearby village of Bradley, captured the lot on 8mm film.
