Carnival - Flint

There is a big turn out for the carnival, the queen its highlight. Those present would be able to view themselves later, in this very film, on the big screen at the local cinema.

Robert Davies, 5 times mayor of Flint, JP, tailor and proprietor of cinemas, is seen, as mayor, crowning the elegant and beautifully dressed May Queen, who is borne along in the parade, with her court, on a horse-drawn float. Robert and his son, Eric Vincent Davies, would commission films of local events/activities, such as this, for their cinemas. The Flint gasworks and the football ground (now a retail park) can be seen in some shots.
