The Production of Cider

With the first million gallon storage tank under construction the production of cider by Bulmer's had come a long way since the days of the hand pressed apple drink enjoyed by local farm labourers. By 1969 the firm had embraced television advertising and their brands were selling across the world. Barri Haynes describes these scenes for ATV Today: from the mechanical shaking of trees (no longer picked by hand) to the whirl of bottles on the high-tech production line.
