Perpetuum Mobile

Human puppets act out a tale of love, jealousy and obsession in this short experimental film by Colchester Cine Club, 1974.

Colchester Cine Club was a member of the Essex Federation of Amateur Cine Clubs (EFACC). In 1974, the Club produced this short experimental film for an EFACC exercise on the theme of ‘Infinity'. The film's subjects act as human puppets, telling a tale of jealousy and love rivalry, which, melded with atmospheric music completes the experimental melodrama. The film was shot on Super 8 colour film with a magnetic stripe added for sound.

Colchester Cine Club was formed in 1959. It later became the Colchester Cine and Video Club, and it's current incarnation is Colchester Film Makers Club.
