Established in 1992, the South West Film & Television Archive collection spans from 1893 to the present day containing more than 250,000 items. Formed from a variety of depositors, including broadcast news and programmes material from the Westward and TSW archive. In 2018 the archive collection transferred to The Box in Plymouth.

Plymouth celebrates the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary

Plymouth celebrates King George V and Queen Mary's Silver Jubilee on the 6 May 1935, many visit the city of Plymouth to see the various decorations and festivities being held including the Military parade and inspection of the troops on Plymouth's Hoe.

King-Emperor George came to the throne after his father King Edward VII passed on May 6 1910, his elder brother Albert Victor had previously died on the 14 January 1892, George's wife Princess Victoria Mary of Teck ‘May' became Queen Mary. The First World War had left the king ill after being thrown from his horse and injured on 28 October 1915, His Silver Jubilee occurred nine months before his death on 20 January 1936.
