End Piece to Opus One: The Car goes Home

Eddie takes to the lanes in his old car around Braunton

This 1950s film shows Eddie in his vintage car charging around the lanes of Braunton, North Devon. The comedy sketch was originally set to the music Opus No. 1. Opus One was composed in 1943 by Melvin James Sy Oliver and made hugely popular by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra in 1944. This film is part of the Coward Collection.

We are told about the state of the car in the second title: She was ancient worn and tattered And she had no youth to lend. But with Eddie at the wheel, She was game, Sir to the end.
