Brixham's Third Age Dance Class (Westward Diary)

It takes two to tango in Torbay

Percy Manton enjoys dancing so much he is teaching ballroom dancing to a group of elderly residents in the Torbay area and Westward reporter Kay Avila joins the dance class for a tango lesson. Based in Brixham, the classes are aimed at socialising for the elderly, some who rarely leave their house.

Percy Manton is sixty- six and recently retired and has won awards for his dancing abilities. Now widowed, he shares his love of dance with others. Tango is a style of Latin ballroom dance which originated in the 1890s along the Rio de la Plata a natural border between Argentina and Uruguay.
