Buck Allport (ATV Today)

The long hot summer of 1976 brings drought. Can a Shropshire countryman provide the answer?

Buck Allport from Bridgnorth made several appearances on ATV Today during the 1970s with home-spun philosophies on farming issues. Here he talks to John Swallow (who barely gets a word in) about the subject of the moment: the long drought of the summer of 1976. With a poem about the earthworm, this rural character may not be an eco-warrior but he is talking sense about pesticides and the changing ways of our rural landscape.
