It's not long before baby Marred of Brynsiencyn has progressed from lying in her pram to toddling about the garden pushing a doll's pram.

The early years of Marred Jones, younger daughter of Dr John Glyn Jones, Brynsiencyn GP, and Dr Mair Jones (nee Humphreys), Anglesey Council's Assistant Medical Officer. From an infant in a pram on the balcony of her home – from which there is a splendid view of the mountains of Snowdonia - she finds a way of bum-shuffling along before taking to her feet and toddling about the garden pushing a doll's pram. Her sister, Annes Glynn, is seen amongst the tulips.

Dr John Glyn Jones, a viola player, inherited film-making equipment from his pharmacist Uncle Robin [Robert J Jones] who shot footage of the Nefyn community in the 1930s. Dr Jones continued the practice of filming community as well as family events up until the 1970s. The reel includes colour shots of the cottage – ‘Tyn-giat' at Y Fach-wen, Bryn'refail, Caernarfonshire – which he and Mair co-owned with Mair's sister Laura and her husband Dafydd Jones. There are also colour shots of Annes pushing her sister carefully about the productive garden tended by Mair's parents, and black and white shots of the young family with John's parents, his father a retired sea captain.
