Coronation Procession at St. Boswells
The big occasion, as celebrated in a small town
This display, resurrected for a late-1920s newsreel, has many highlights, including a pierrot wheeling a penny farthing. Filmed on Main Street in St Boswell's in the Scottish Borders, the film shows how the coronation of Edward VII was celebrated far and wide. For a small town, this is a large turnout - perhaps boosted by visitors from nearby towns. We can only speculate how many people caught on film attended the local screening that surely followed.
