Jubilee

It's all bell bottoms and bunting as families gather to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee.

Headley Drive in Croydon was one of twelve thousand community groups that organised street parties for the Queen's Silver Jubilee celebrations in 1977. Despite ominous clouds, the residents are seen busily decorating their street in union colours whilst children play at oranges and lemons. At an indoor children's party, tables are laden with cakes and a little boy eats his jelly pudding with relish!

This film is from the collection of Redbridge Museum, Local Studies and Archives, a member of the London's Screen Archives Network.
